Seems a bit odd to me but I happen to have a part sheet of tanalised ply the right size for an indoor job where I want a paint finish. Will normal acrylic paint go over the treated wood OK or do the chemicals cause some sort of reaction? TIA. People on here know everything :D

We used acrylic paint to seal 'temporary' treated plywood exterior siding and it was still looking good 6 years later, though the ply was beginning to buckle slightly by then. Can't see a problem for an indoor application :)

No problem but the job will last much better if the surface is "primed" first, then "undercoated", then "topcoated". We have recently been told by a reputable paint company (Resene, I think) that each of a specific primer, undercoat and topcoat is used it will be better than a mixed "primer/undercoat".

Thanks guys. Will give it a go. Think I've got some primer here somewhere.

I've recently had similar recommendations from Resene for paint treatments of Linea we have reclad with. Hard to tell how much is sound product advice as opposed to salespeople maximising the till total

If I remember rightly, we were recommended an oil based primer for tanilized ply.

Did you know, that what you thought I said, was not what I meant :S
