It's over - I have sold.
It is a weird feeling knowing that the people who have bought my "LSB home" of the past 22 years are the perfect buyers. All these years, I have said I only ever wanted to sell to a family who can appreciate the beauty of where I live. They do.
Looking around me at all the properties that have been on the market for so long, I feel so lucky that the first people to look at it are the ones who have bought it. No - I did not undersell to get a sale and they did not expect me too. Seriously, I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have reached this decision (to sell) in October, haven't had to market it as they approached me and bingo - it has worked for both of us.
Now what? Groan. At least I have nearly three months to settlement so time to get over the moment (a vaccum right now) and get positive about a new adventure - whatever that is. I should add that I am not looking to stay rural for the time being but knowing, if I hate suburbia, I can always buy another LSB.

Good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help someone up. Anon.

Mind you i don't think its going to skyrocket any time soon, just people who have the means to move before Christmas are making their moves now to secure property.

I am totally serious - there is no plan - and yes there are moments of sheer panic and "what have I done" but there is no point in buying a property until I know where I want to live. Given that my Mum is in failing health (though will probably be here until she is 100!), I doubt I will want to stay in Auckland once she passes.
The idea of a village community that is active socially and near a beach is the ultimate plan, with money left over to invest. Now where the dickens is that? Laugh
