Can someone quickly tell me if you can take darning needles and crotchet hooks and finish off the art work while one flies over the ditch?? I am running out of time eeeekkkk

you could get away with the crotchet hook.. but they may look sideways at the darning needle.. take spare in your luggage in case they confiscate the one in your carry on..
they can be a bit hit and miss.. i flew to melbourne with a friend who had 3 bar man knives ( corkscrew, knife combo etc ).. in her hand bag.. they let her on.. yet they confiscated by eye drops.. go figure

Thanks... I think I am going to upset security enough as it is.. so I shall roll it up and put it in the cargo.. or gather myself and get into 5th gear. in the next hour!!!! why do I procrastinate sooooooooooooooooo much?

Yep hit and miss. I found things in E's carry on once that surprised me that we cleared customs but there you go.

personally I would take on board anything that you wanted to use, but wasn't afraid of having confiscated if worse came to worse.
