A Celebration not an advertisment

Yesterday we had a lazy Sunday afternoon celebrating our 45th wedding aniversary. We bought pre lunch nibbles and supplied the wine for a few friends who bought their own lunches at the Moeraki Boulders Cafe a couple of minutes down the road from here.
Well this is the part that could be construed as an advertisment. It was just such a bloody loverly place, food and presentation and staff that I strongly recommend it that anyone cruising down State Highway 1 through East Otago to stop for a snack, or more.
And like, the food was supperb. This is what the nibbles loked like, more like a full meal.
And for lunch half a blue cod was quite a meal;
And our grandson actually ate the full blue cod meal after the nibbles;
And a half a fishermans platter was also fairly sufficient;
The view from inside the cafde was fairly good too;
But from out on the deck we looked over the Moeraki Boulders and up the coast to our place in the background on the top of the cliff.
Or down the coast to the Moeraki village
Sorry about all that skite.

We had our wedding photos taken on the beach there as in-laws lived at Appleby Street then. Only 8 years for us so far though.

We are thinking we will try out a restaurant in Russell that we haven't tried yet. Nothing on the scale of Jack's celebration that's for sure, but maybe for our 40th we could do something like that.beedee;334034 wrote: Hope you have a great day planned to match Jack's Grant???
Meanwhile, one of our twin sons had his birthday yesterday so we Skyped him last night, and his brother is now in the US so we will Skype him today as it is the 6th over there. Our daughter's birthday is later this month. September is a very busy month for birthdays etc in our family.

One thing your photographs proved to me is that I HAVE to go to the South Island for a trip. Like many, I have travelled extensively but the only South Island contact has been for conferences in ChCh and flying home.

I was thinking that Didi. I certainly notice this more in the UK than NZ (which is why I didn't write it at first), but everything seems so disposable, including relationships.DiDi;334093 wrote: Congratulations both couples from me too. That is a great feat in this day and age of

A wonderful place for a wonderful meal, makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Need to make it an annual outing
