My hero

Those that know me, know I hand-raise cockatiels and budgies, some have even had me visit with my latest babies in a box with hot water and feed at the ready. (must be as bad as having to pack for kids [])

One of my older cockatiels, with clipped wings, has been on my shoulder outside for about an hour. I have been hanging out washing, spraying bleach on the deck and pottering around. I bent down near the deck rails to fill the spray unit with clean water and the bird just took off..................... over the paddocks and right into the middle of............
the dam!
L ran down and started stripping off to swim to get him, I suggested the dinghy would be better (and warmer).
Dinghy in, paddle across with hands (no oars to be found in the panic), floundering bird rescued............. my hero![:X]
Bird has now had a warm bath and been blow dried and sitting on my shoulder ....... inside.
None the worst for the outing either.

I am taking L out tonight................... shopping [}]

Wow - that's dedication and he most certainly deserves an outing tonight - maybe with something edible and a nice glass of wine after the shopping.

Perhaps you should stick to ducks? [}][}][}]
