Do you think you could adapt to a locally produced diet?

I know Scouse Girl would struggle without her mushy peas! :p

Check out a book called 'Animal Vegetable Miracle' about a families efforts in the US to go the locavore way, interesting and a good read :D

It certainly made me think more about what produce etc I was buying and where from. My only exception is bananas, can't live without them! :D

Hundred miles from here can get everything, just "local" most things lots of wineries, Tui,animals and veges, fruit so not a problem.

It would be interesting to try this. Wondering what I'd have for breakfast though. Was thinking it would be a good way to improve the quality of my diet which could certainly stand some improvement, but then remembered the chocolate factory! Might have to draw the lines to exclude that big purple building LOL.

Mmmm...reminded me...we are on our way to Dunedin for a week in January...big purple building has tours... :p mmmm...as does a certain brewery.

Hey, with chocolate and beer that close, doesn't that cover all the major food groups, HD??

Oh yeah there's a chocolate factory in Hamilton! Ohh but it's ain't Cadburys!

Mmmmmmmmmmm will have to think this through.

It would be a good challenge to set ourselves though. Do you think we should try it sometime?

I think I would like to, Hamilton Farmers market is every Sunday, we have our own meat and Vilagrads winery isnt too far away. How hard could it be!??

Perhaps we could start with just the fresh fruit and veges and meat side of things, unprocessed stuff - then there is honey, jams, preserves from farmers markets also :)

Good idea.

How about in the New Year, then we can put a food diary on each day.

Try it for a week maybe???
