Hyperlink help please
Also tried to set up a hyperlink added to my email signature that is supposed to take you directly to the business page. it seems to work the first time, but after that, it has reverted to the login page.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong please. I want folk to be able to click on the link and be taken directly to the page in question, not the login page.
Also, after a lot of tooing and froing yesterday afternoon, I could not access anything on facebook - just got a blank white page. Have no idea what I did to achieve this nor how to get it back to normal. It seems to be working fine this morning, so any theories on that please????
This has all come about as we went to a seminar last week and the tutor strongly suggested we tackle this avenue.[}

A step-by-step instruction manual for dummies would be appreciated, but I suspect does not exist [}

Next question - is there a time limit on that site before you are automatically logged out?? or can you stay open indefinately??

Yes, that would be right.ronnie;320273 wrote: OK, I think I have worked it out - seems I have to be logged on for the page to show [

N.B. This means that your customers also need to be logged in to Facebook, and be "Joined" to the group which you have set up as your business page, in order to see all the information.
It seems that you can stay logged in indefinitely so long as when logging in, you tick the box which says "stay logged in on this computer".ronnie;320273 wrote: Next question - is there a time limit on that site before you are automatically logged out?? or can you stay open indefinately??
I have noticed that if you then log in from a different computer, sometimes the first one gets logged out again.

To cover my bases, I also have a paid ad running on the site which is definately bringing people onto the page. I have a facebook only special running for Thursday this week, but not of much use if no one can see the page.:rolleyes:
Will have to remember to tick that box next time I sign out and in again.
Still not convinced it is set up right, but its a bit of trial and error at this stage of the game. Spent most of yesterday mucking around with it, until all I could get was a blank white page and gave up at that point.
Fortunately it reset itself overnight so I could access it this morning.
Trademe is sooooooo much easier :cool:

I presume you want to sign out because you have more than one Facebook account Ronnie?ronnie;320298 wrote: Will have to remember to tick that box next time I sign out and in again.
For myself, I just never sign out -- there's no reason to.
I think it's great that you're giving this a try Ronnie. Those context-sensitive ads in Facebook definitely work. I've clicked on a couple that were relevant to me. They seem to be targetted according to the interests that people have set up, as well as their age group, gender and location.ronnie;320298 wrote: To cover my bases, I also have a paid ad running on the site which is definately bringing people onto the page.
Facebook is a pretty smart concept really, putting aside privacy concerns for the moment (they are being worked on).
I know TradeMe is easier, but people only go there when they're looking for something specific, not to just "hang out" with their friends. Facebook taps into that market very nicely, and in the case of your slippers, could work very well for a spur-of-the-moment purchase from someone who has cold feet while sitting at their computer

Very funny - NOT. Be prepared to waste a lot of time getting it set up. I spent most of yesterday trying to figure out how it works. But something I did seemed to make it work properly.
Thursday will be an interesting day - to see if anyone actually responds to my "special offer". I am hoping to offer a different special each week and see how it goes.
I was actually thinking today that you might like to have a go at this as well. The tutor of my seminar last week was convinced it is a good medium for small business. So its all her fault.[}
