Lots of biscuits are being made in China. I know that Griffins has at least one factory, so checked where the Gingernuts that TM bought a while ago to see where they were made. On the pack there is absolutely no way of knowing where they have been made !!:-(

This is how they tell in the USA!
BUY USA & CANADA AND NOT FROM CHINA!!

This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.

The whole world is afraid of China-made "black hearted goods".

Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ?

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 690, 691 or

692, the product is MADE IN CHINA .

471 is Made in Taiwan .

This is our right to know, but the government and related

departments never educate the public, therefore we have

to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers

do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA ", so they don't

show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode, remember

if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA .
00 - 09
... USA & CANADA
30 - 37
.... FRANCE
40 - 44 ... GERMANY
47 ... Taiwan
49
... JAPAN
50 ... UK

BUY USA & CANADIAN MADE by watching

for "0" at the beginning of the number.

We need every boost we can get!

This page tell you which country the code has been allocated to NOT the country of origin.
I thought the country of origin of the contents had to be on all goods

Our Arnotts Ginger nuts had several languages on it including Chinese but above that along the top was made in Aussie. The use by date was above the chinese date very clear on one packet but hardly could see it on the other.

Made from local & imported product means that if the product had raisins in it every thing else could be local other than the raisins.

Nope. The proposed legislation for country-of-origin food labelling did not get through.
