I went looking for one of our cats last night (who was later found tucked up with E) and noticed some ''interesting'' happenings. I mentioned it to SOH who said he had been seeing it as well when he leaves at 3.30am.
the people involved are tenants on a rural property and are not associated with the community in any way. Funnily enough last week I was asked by another local about the people, so perhaps others know of this situation, but I wouldn't have picked them to be ''the type''.
Have others experienced this? Do you take matters further or let it go? Did you feel you or your family were at risk from what was happening?

If you mean there are culinary possibly activities which have nothing to do with food, I'd be calling the local cops on Monday morning and having a chat. Doesn't matter what people look like - we've all been reminded recently what some "pillars of the community" get up to, name suppression and all.

Commercial enterprising (going from the size of the light span) that requires indoor yellow lights turning off late at night and then back on by the time SOH goes to work (as opposed to the white ones previously on all night every night) and dark nights to take stuff to vehicle, vehicle back and forth.
Owner hangs outside of area if we pass during the daytime, not really doing anything at all but was supposed to have own business elsewhere.
If we head back the other way, he lays down in the rear of the vehicle or puts the bonnet up to ''work'' on the motor.... cars are gone and replaced with vehicles of similar age (so not upgrading) every couple of months. Then another will appear, another disappears. LL told me a while back they were having trouble paying the rent, no problem changing cars though.... and we found they had addressed their mail to our addy but the rural postie knows to put it in the other box.:confused::confused::confused::confused: (someone not wanting to let the authorities know where they really live?)
Don't go to local cops things are seen and blabbed - might be worth mentioning to specialist squad Counties-Manakau police.

Both. If you are talking drug manufacturing rental properties are best for that. A rental property can not be confiscated under the Drugs Act. As you can not sue in NZ the owner of the property can not sue for say the cost of getting a P Lab property de contaminated (that can run into thousands or the property could be condemmed). Equally with cannabis growing - damaged caused by conversion to indoor growing with lights/fans/hydroponics is not suable for. Power is often spliced of another line so is difficult to trace.
For other things rental properties are still good. Chop shops are usually always in rented warehouses or similar especially in industrial areas where comings and goings are normal at all hours and the noise during the night doesn't stand out.

I'd keep a log of observations, times, dates etc and if you can, the registration numbers of those cars, or at least make and colour if you cannot get close enough without drawing attention to yourself. If at the end of a few months you are more than suspicious, then it might be time to seek the help of a senior policeman, or use that dob-in phone line that is supposed to be totally anonymous, if you are worried for your own safety. Was it Winston Churchill who said it only took a few good men to do nothing, to let evil triumph? or words to that effect.

You can take a civil case against someone/sue in NZ. There are some special situations where you cannot, such as those covered by the ACC legislation, but they surely would not apply in this situation.
I'd be having a word with the cops regardless! Number plates of cars and their description would be a good start as if the two don't match, or show up stolen, then the cops will be very interested... along with your other suspicions. No apologies for believing that if your suspicions are right - there will be many people getting hurt including the taxpayer!
I have been paying greater attention today, SOH was coming home (you can see from further up the land who is heading this way) and the open doors to said area were quickly closed.
Obviously we are being watched and one thing I didn't mention in my earlier post was last night after I had been out and about looking for the cat, high beam lights were scanned over our place (I was inside by this time) as the departing vehicle returned....
So it seems to me our movements are being monitored, whilst the twit is awake that is. But why doesn't he worry that SOH is a cop on rotating duty with the hours he comes and goes?
1. For those who don't know, our original house here was destroyed by electrical fire of 2 separate fires which were located in the newly serviced meter box.
We were living in Aussie at the time and the insurance investigator as well as us when we came back later, found hydroponic lighting in the remains so its a really sensitive subject for us because its cost us $$'s regardless of insurance coverage...
2. Early this morning SOH on his way to work physically picked up a body off the middle of the road.
The body turned out to be very drunk but asleep/knocked out having ditched his car on the other side of the road and someone known to us from the area.
SOH called the cops with this guys ok but it was stressful to SOH that he could have hit this guy this morning. another car passed but didn't stop to help.
I thought we were over the shite..... just want a peaceful, quiet and happy life. Why us?
Swaggie, I have my own communication network with the boys in blue, but there is either a website or 0800 for leaving messages, or even post it in a plain brown envelope...the rego and dates... Down in a central north island town, the hints for extra activities are windows with flapping curtains out the little window at the top type thing.. and yes lights on at funny times,, so those lights seem to be telling ya sumfink indeed.

Do you have a community obligation to report it..??? As far as I am concerned YES, how many folk watch a drunk drive their car and say nought, then full of gossip when the accident occurs.. as we have seen in the papers recently with that granny.
We also know since this w/end that the entertainment circles are well educated on the finer side of useage.. then maybe a certain step daughter wouldnt be in the news so often if only someone had stopped her when it was tinnies she was trialling and not now a constant visitor to the court house... and you have a daughter!!!
but thats just my 2c worth... I have accosted the occasional pusher, so that my daughters werent involved ever.. my thoughts being if each and every person showed their distaste we might save the life of one child. BUT I was in a safe position to do it!
And yes I am well aware of the stresses for you of owning that place, but those folk also move on, so send them on down country, where they can blow themselves up really out of sight of others

what is WRONG with people here Beedee, we never attracted so much rubbish or going on's living outside of a rural (but bushland urban) small community back in Aust.
has it really changed that much since SOH departed in the 70's.? he isn't shocked or upset by much, bit of a toughy I have here, but geeze some people really seem to be d*ckheads and asking for trouble its just so blatant.
