...does anyone in the Franklin/Te Kauwhata area know if it is still open? I see the vineyard is up for sale, and I can't find a website for them...

Bracu at Bombay is very nice for a special occasion, although wine very pricey.

It is, way pricey, you get REAL hand towels in the toilets though. Kim was taken there for lunch by a client and said it was very nice but she was glad she didn't have to pay.

If you want to go out for dinner, Poco Loco in Pukekohe is very good. They're closing on the 23rd for Christmas though. They have a web site with the menu on it which is changed frequently. They keep some of the regular Tapas but have lots of seasonal changes. They cater for vegetarians and have gluten free meals, all with a little prefix beside these dishes on the menu. V, VGF, GF etc and the vegetarian dishes aren't just Tapas without the meat.

Depends on the consumer.... I recommended them to my Aussie Uncle bringing friends over for a quick 10 day tour of the north island. They at some point and without me [}:)] ended up at Bracu and my uncle in Switzerland was the one to tell me.

I won't mention what he said o/s about the rest of the quality of cooking in the north island. However I think perhaps he was like me when I visited NZ for the first few times, all rushed and with NZ hiding its best, it ain't obvious to those on the quick hunt for a great feast.
