Hello all! I'm wanting to make a bread poultice for human use. Do I use white or brown bread cause brown is all we have. And do I use boiling water or milk to soak the bread in and wrap while it is very hot?? Thanks in advance

This looks like the definitive link on poultices Sandra. smokh.org/pages_good_health/poultice.html

The one I used was either 1/2 cup bread or oatmeal with a small (about peanut size) lump of washing soda, & a pinch of Epsom salts, mix with hot water to a stiff paste put in gauze & apply where needed as hot as you can stand it without being burnt.

I used to use any bread I could find, and as hot as I could get it without burning...this was to draw out those horrible little white thistles that I'd get in my fingers as a child handling hay, that would fester and end up causing infections :( As an adult, yes, I would add some epsom salts too, knowing that they work well for this also...

Add epsom salts to the poltice as well! that helps draw any thing out, or just squirt on some proxide and water mix and see what comes out, that also helps.

Use mouldy bread or mix manuka honey with it and you won't need the antibiotics...
