Increasing C Drive space? was created by Midge
Thanks for the help I got regarding adding more memory to my pc my photos new come up much more quickly:)
Now I have a new query that I need advice on. How does one increase space in C Drive? I have a total space of 32.6 but only have 1.03 GB's left. I defrag and run disk cleanup regualarly.
Any suggestions gratefully received:)
Cheers:)

I would suggest adding another Hard Drive to your PC for storing photographs and music as well as any other data files that are taking up a lot of space.
For various reasons, it is usually more convenient to leave installed programs on C: drive (under Program Files). But you can easily move the contents of My Documents onto a second hard drive.
Ideally, install a second hard drive inside your PC. But if that isn't possible (or is too difficult) then get hold of an external hard drive with USB 2.0 connection.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Grant.

I'll back up Grant's assessment. There are only two ways of freeing up C: space... by either removing content or replacing it with a larger drive. Replacing the drive is a monstrous hassle, and needs to be done by an expert. It is a 5 minute job to add another drive (if you have room in the case).
The smallest drives available these days are 160Gb, around $75.
An external USB drive is a little more expensive, as it is the above drive in an external case with a cable. 160Gb for $100.
For either option I'd suggest you get a computer person to make the addition, it will take less time. Maybe the neighbour's 12yo kid.

Thanks for the help Grant and Michael:) I'll look at getting an external H/Drive.
It's a real bugger that I'm the one who knows the most about pc's in my circle of friends and the neighbourhood - and my reguluar questions are a giveaway as to how little that is:(
