I wanna show my boy off!

So, here is a link to a video I made of him free-jumping yesterday. He is nearly five years old now but has done no real jumping of note. I am a sissy in the saddle these days and happy to school and potter about but my jumping nerve seems to have disappeared off into the wild blue yonder - Hopefully I will be able to work on that in the coming season. I did have a rider lined up but she has had to pull out due to work commitments and the fact she has three of her own horses in work. She has offered to help me in weekends though which is really sweet of her.

Anyway, please take the time, if you are horsey, to take a look at Reilly jumping himself yesterday. He got more and more confidence the more times he did it and in the end I had to stop him and take the jumps down before he ran himself ragged, lol! Silly boy.

Susan, I hope you see this - If I remember I will email you. Susan B's mum bred Reilly's mum and it was through Susan that she came to me. Anyone who has known me for the last 6 years might have some idea of the dramas that were involved in getting this lovely boy on this earth but it has been worth absolutely every moment of stress and heartache.

He's a super type with a super brain and he is MY little superstar :D

He looks lovely Lou :D Nicely tucked :)

Also loved your dog. It reminded me that my boy used to pop round the course behind me... I miss him.

Strange how much you've got to know, Before you know how little you know.

Gorgeous....but if he knows how to jump all by himself, what keeps him in his paddock?[}:)]

Funny you should mention that Kate as he jumped out of his today but it was my fault. I picked up my 'lets go jumping' stick and he happened to be facing a fence so, he did! I put him back and went and hid it after that, lol!

Very very nice... I wish I lived up your way - I'd volunteer to compete him! You need to get him into some showhunter classes pronto - I think he'd do rather well!

On another note, do you run mares with him, or are they hand served? I have a 1/4 CB 3/4 TB mare that has a history of endometritis so is a poor AI candidate and needs to run with a stallion and it's hard to find a quality stallion that runs with mares and I do very much like your boy....

He's stunning. The jump at 56 seconds shows his front hooves neatly tucked right up high, almost touching his body... I'm guessing this is the prime position for taking a jump? I know very little about this sort of thing but in that shot, he looks very tidy.......

The sheen on his coat is FAB!!!!
No wonder he's your pride and joy!!!!

Wow he is lovely. Dont worry about losing your jumping nerve mate, it happens when you have a kid and all of a sudden i think you kinda realise that if you get "broken" you're in deep shite! It kind of comes back later ... but never the same again sorry :)

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing, and then they marry him.

Thanks you guys! It is lovely to have somewhere I can come and brag a bit without being made to feel like I have an ulterior motive. He's my pride and joy and I don't get to share him with many people because we are a little isolated out here. That aside, he could be knock kneed, pigeon toed with the ass of a donkey and the neck of a mule and I would still love him.

Wow! It's only when you see how fluid and balanced a horse can do it all by himself, that you realize how much the rider on the back hinders them. (especially the neck stretching out)

You are so right! And some, ahem, riders, hinder them more than others!!! [:I]
