Well I hope all you ladies with op's are doing what you are told and getting well again. All I've got is a pain in the butt! I could bring that to a coffee morning and drive MM there?

Well I am home, and in my case got my bling which according to the staff wasnt the right name so its going to be called the purple pigalet.
I finally went down at 2pm operation started about 2.20 and finished on 3.30 and I left the building about 4.30, needed xray and coffee and chat with specialist.. In my case it was a different method of accessing my system for fluids so I have a portacath. and its purple.. the neck is a bit sore so the scarf is holding the head on..
Yes I was bad, I got thirsty so drank water, behind the curtain.. I knew I could and it was important to keep the volume up.
they had new staff there of course, and one nurse was horrified that I walked into theatre and walked away from the table after, that the oldies were used to it and took it for granted.. this time the orderlies didnt even take the bed down cos they know I refuse to even touch it..
I did behave and actually had time to play with my new toy the kaoscillator and only read one magazine and people watched when I got bored.
Glad you are joining the crew Kate, you might as well, I think for most its been a positive experience.. starting with TKP now able to walk around the lake, something she couldnt do when we had the gardens meeting. then we can all get on with the late spring for when it arrives will be with a bang.. then a non descript summer.

Back in the land of the living. Sore, horrid big scars, and a drain to lug around for 5 days :( but alive :) , just wait for the excision margin and node results in a week or so typing is slow with only one hand.
glad the rest are on the mend.

Cate

MM the tissue around will be a bit inflammed .. once that settles you will be able to breathe and the stich itself dissolves usually about 15 days but can take 40!
Cate glad to know you are back on Earth..
Ive been hunting for my arnica creme, the discomfort with the bruising was getting uncomfortabe,, gosh I luv that stuff within 3 mins relief. and I can breathe again.. also!
just a very stiff neck and moving slowly... too slow for the cows.
Your scars will fade, to look ugly now is actually a good sign, shows the healing process is in action... it is important to have steri strips on for 6wks post surgery, at least that is after the dressing are taken down, then they wont stretch.. get them placed like a railway track go along the wound edge then across it with short ones, in a year you will wonder where the scar was..
big ((((C))))
