Should I be putting E & OE on the bottom of the accounts I am sending out?

I remember doing this years ago - stands for Errors & Ommissions Excepted, I think. Covers for any mistakes you might have made.

Can somebody update me please? Thanks.

Hi Toast, I do accounts and have never heard of this? Never seen it on any invoices received either and I get plenty of those too.....
Probably has no teeth in this day and age:)

Toast, yes it does stand for Errors and Ommissions Excepted and hasn't been generally used for many years. I don't put it on my invoices/statements and it's not on anything I receive either so I think you can safely forget about it - unless you think your going to make lots of errors[:0]

If you Google the words you will find that it appears to be used as a Terms of Trade statement rather than an invoice.

There is heaps on there about E&OE but the definition of it is:

Expression included at the end of an invoice or total as a disclaimer against clerical error.

And it really means nothing because if any of us have a problem with an invoice we get on the phone and sort it out.

Seems to me that if you are prone to making mistakes with such an important thing as your accounts then you should not be sending them out. People will always pay first, those accounts that are correct. Any wrong ones go to the bottom of the pile and wait until you send them the correct one. In todays hard times any excuse not to pay an account works against you.
Make sure you send out correct accounts
