Arrival info for domestic flights

SOh is on flight NZ 8811 tonight into New Plymouth. The plane was late in leaving Auckland this arvo, and its still showing as not arrived in NP.... however info for this airport is monitored by an american website which says only info for usa and canada is currently available.

as there are no news headlines on NZ herald to suggest its crashed, and knowing if there was an issue in the cockpit, SOH could take over, why is it that NP airport and no doubt other domestic airports are not monitored locally and reported on an NZ website?

Their automated flight info line is pretty good...might be more updated than their website...?

Is that the air NZ info line Tigger? SOH took all the paperwork with him, so I am relying on the net to give me an answer.

thanks Tigger for the thought. I found their number but its also saying its due to arrive at 6.35pm (this is at 8.47pm). I will just presume its either been diverted due to bad weather or arrived late as it left late.

This is the arrivals board of the New Plymouth airport. You can search the boards of any airport in NZ - arrivals and departures.

However, my son flew out yesterday and this website said the flight was on time, but when I got to the airport I found that Auckland airport was closed, and nothing was moving. His flight left 2 hours late.

Don't worry too much, check the weather at the other end as well as relying on this website - it's usually at least half an hour out of date.

Apparently flight 8821 left Auckland at 8:15 - if that's his plane, he's on his way now, apparently arriving at 9:00

Swaggie, they are bloody hopeless if flights get diverted elsewhere due to weather, you sort of enter a black hole of information [!] I've complained about it before as the Hamilton incomings get diverted to Tauranga with fog, which is a pretty regular occurrence....

What time did the flight leave Auckland? Also, is there a chance that his cellphone has gone flat and they haven't left Auckland yet...? Or his cell has gone flat and he's in NP but can't contract you?

Have you tried contacting him at where he is staying?

I know how worrying it can be...although its usually hubby worrying about me!

I got onto a human at Air NZ who remembered SOH and his collleagues, apparently their flight left auckland and returned due to heavy winds.... So then Air NZ booked them on the following flight, not realising it was already fully booked, so they were outed from that, are somewhere in auckland and due to fly out in the morning direct to wellington (if the weather is good the CS person tells me its not looking that way) and then onto a connecting flight to NP....

I am surprised SOH hasn't returned home. He would be so over this by now as he hurt his back yesterday and really didn't want to go to start with...

Shows delay on flight 8811, but not sure what time that reading is from, assume real time as showing later flights already landed.

The other thing is that it is showing 8821 already landed, so wonder if they combined two flights, a lot of chopping and changing of schedules happening at the mo...

Weather in NP is not that great - raining, but that's normal for here - nothing to close the airport. It's getting pretty windy though, and there is a strong wind warning out. Nowhere near windy enough to stop planes, though.
