I had a visitor! was created by AdoubleJ
All organised to go to the dog show this morning, went across to feed the other dogs staying at home and hear this miaowing!! Had a look round and there was my Toffee!!!! [:0] :D I probably haven't seen her for about 3 months. I don't know if you remember but she is my cuddly cat that has decided she doesn't want to live here any more but 'visits' every so often to let me know she is still around. I have been thinking of her lately, wondering if she is still alive - I have no way of knowing........ She is looking very healthy, came and had a cuddle and some breakfast and then left again........
I cried.........:( :(

Are you for real; she wanders in then wanders off again? What a strange cat..do you think she is residing elsewhere? Someone must be feeding her regular meals?

Unfortunately I am for real!
When we moved down here 3 years ago we kept them in a run for about 3 weeks as they weren't used to the wide open spaces....:D. Let them out but shut them back in each night for their dinner and to keep them safe. Everything was fine for about 2 years and then Toffee disappeared, we went everywhere, called, knocked on doors etc. but no sign of her so I thought we had lost her. About a month later in wandered Toffee as though nothing had happened, stayed a couple of days and then wandered off again. This happened a few times so I thought, right, madam I'll fix you and shut her back in for a week. I could go in and feed her cuddle her and she never even bothered going near the door, so of course I thought - Good now you remember where you live and left the door open - Off she went again!! That time she disppeared for a couple of months. :( I was driving home from work one day and thought - I haven't seen Toffee for ages, turned in the drive and there she was sitting in the middle of the driveway![:0] Gave her a cuddle, some food and shut her in for 2 weeks, opened the door for her ... off she went again....:( This time it has been months and I was beginning to think we had lost her - again. And there she was this morning....:D:D.
She is 12 yrs old and has only been sick once in her life. My problem is that the other 3 cats just live here, 2 you can stroke but the third one was a wild rescue by my daughter (How did we end up with her?) Toffee is my smoocher, in Auckland she used to drape herself round my shoulders while I did my housework... She would stretch right out and I mean right out, on my knee so that her tail and back feet were on my tummy and her head and front legs were down by my ankles.... I miss her......:(

This is the little madam
and this, believe it or not, is the wild one..

wow... my sister used to own a cat that was this ones twin and it was called Taffy!!!!!

I wouldn't be sad about her .. she obviously does know where she lives but chooses to roam... and still being healthy she must be OK doing what she's doing... I would love to have a cat that smooches like that and I would certainly miss that contact but I guess when she comes home again it makes the smooching extra special...

I have (had?) a cat named George who disappeared for about 10 months. He came back and hung around for a few months over winter and took off. This has been going on for about 5 years now. I expect he will move back home around April.
