Computer stuff was created by Isla
My computer just downloaded IE8 (yes, I'm a default MS user) and while I was initially annoyed by some of the changes, I've just discovered how the grouped tab system works and it's blooming (as in colourfully) marvellous! I do a lot of expansion of pedigree diagrams and I can see it being particularly useful to keep track of my progress through those maze-like searches.

Other bits are still annoying me, but I guess I'll figure out how to change them, or I'll get used to them and they won't matter so much.

It's Internet Explorer version 8. Link here .

Basically what 90-odd percent of the world uses to surf the web. You're probably using it right now. This is the new whizz-bang version that beats as it sweeps as it cleans... apparently.

Haven't had a good look myself as I am happy with IE7 and haven't been swayed to the other browsers like Firefox and Opera.

Doesn't IE mean "Internet Exploder", not "Internet Explorer"! :-)

Ooops, started some sort of "I'm on this side" discussion! [}:)]

I haven't changed because most other systems required me to download something bigger than my dial-up can do. I wasn't meaning to advertise for or recommend the MS crowd. I don't care enough about the whole business to do so. :) I liked a simple change which made what I do a bit clearer.

Crikey, I still haven't learn't the ins and outs of IE7 yet, so not much hope of sorting out IE8.
But it may have downloaded itself without my knowing as when I shut down a couple of nights ago it took ages to install the updates......
