Why is it not possible to send an email to certain forum members, only private messages? - Which unfortunately are pretty useless if a forum member isn't active at the moment :( .

Privacy concerns. Members have the option of disabling email messages. So You'll have to blame the member, not the web goddess :)

Yes, when you register on the forum you can choose to not receive emails from other users. Nothing I can do about it - sorry :(

Simkin, do what others do, leave a message on the main forum that you have PMed the person, and often their neighbour or one who knows them from down the road can let them know you want them.. I have about 6x LSBers on my cell ph so can txt if I see someone is wanting them,others have 40 plus

Often I will browse the forum rather than log in in which case there is no notification of PM's. As suggested, post a note in the forum to whom you wish to contact that there is a pm for them.
