Anyone have any feedback on Meiling white ware

Our upright fridge blew up the other night during a series of power surges and the insurance co. has agreed to pay out to have it repaired BUT the fridge is "elderly" so we thought we would put the $'s toward a newer model. Yes, well not so easy a task! Our fridge & sep. freezer are build into a cupboard/shelf type-thingie and the only upright fridge I can find that will fit, without us having to tear the shelving out, is Meiling brand. MEILING the husband cried "its made in China" [:0] Anyone have any Meiling products ???

Hi, I think the brand you are thinking of is "Miele," my sister has a fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and stove all of this brand. Seem to all work fine and had no problems. The fridge makes ice etc. They are an upmarket brand that are often put in the higher end new houses I understand. Cheers.

Is that a German brand though as opposed to where its actually made?

BB I feel your frustration re sizes. We wanted to keep our old fridge/freezer until we could afford to replace it and just leave a gap for a new one in the new kitchen for the old one to sit in. After seeing the different shapes and sizes, though, and the way they change from year to year, we decided that we'd better buy what we wanted and work around it rather than risk a no-fit the year we could afford new appliances...

Very frustrating.

Tigger, I'm not sure about that, but as they have a good name for at least some appliances one might think quality control is good.

The brand is German, the units are built in Germany the electronics controlling them are built in Korea

No difference to 90% of European appliances in regard to that arrangement

Meiling is def. made in China.

Never heard of it. We just bought a fridge - we wanted only a fridge, not a fridge freezer. We had a choice of one - made buying easy. Just got the same make we had with a model that is 20 years more up to date. I looked at lots though, and never came across Meiling - who is selling it?
