Anyone with Farmside broadband?

We signed up 3 months ago now, got it installed and connected. Gave the visa debit card details. Got paper confirmation that we had given the card details. Yet so far no bills at all. Nothing, not even the installation has gone out of the account.
I am inclined to keep quiet as the fault is theirs; the worst they can do is ask for payment in one go. As it it their fault, I doubt they could charge interest.
Happy to pay if they send a bill.
Anyone else in the same boat?

If that is the only problem with that group then accept it but keep popping the due amount into another acc. while you wait..

I purrsonally would be yelling at them, but then I do that sortta thing.. as I hate money sooo much, I cant stand any intrigue.
not sure how it would stand with the commerce folk, as you probably signed that you would pay, not only when the acc came in..

How good is the connection, and did it cost $300 to install? I am deciding whether to go ahead with it, may get a cheaper installation from field days I'm hoping. Dial up is driving me mad!

They asked us how we would like to be billed, we gave them the card details when we signed up, they have the authority to debit the card. If they do not take the money out of the account, that is their choice. The money should have been taken before it was installed. We didn't notice for a while as you tend to only notice unexpected going in or out of the account, not things not going. They have not asked for payment, not sent any demands at all.

witheze - the connection is OK: a lot faster than dialup, but not the speed that you get connected by cable or adsl. Download is around 225kbps and upload around 100kbps.
I think we paid (or should have paid) about $200 at the time for installation. tbh it is not an unreasonable amount as it included the cost of the dish and also the guy routing cables through the roof and down through wallspaces etc.

For us it works out the same cost as dialup plus the phone rental, as we use it to video call the UK, so no longer have to pay international phone calls anymore.

Have you thought that a dyslexic person might have swapped the numbers and another card is paying your bill for you..like when the bank paid for my car purchase, instead of my acc.

Farmside are chasing me since I showed interest, they rang me yesterday and while I was moaning at the installation fee for a hobby computer, she stated it could take up to three months for them to bill me so I wouldn't have to find the money instantly. So your bill is probably on its way. I went to a friend's place today who lives in the wop wops......and she had got a computer for her gdaughter who lives with her........to my disgust she started up the computer and her speed on dial up was FAR superior to mine. :(:(:(;;;WHY can't I get a decent speed is it my neighbours electric fence which runs parallel with the phone line and I can hear ticking thu my phone line?????? :(:(:(

The electric fence will interfere with it, our neighbours does (not the satellite connection though). Your neighbour can be made to fix the problem as it is against regulations to interfere with the telephone network (trust me I am married to a telecom engineer)
however you biggest thing that will slow it down is the distance that you are from an exchange
