Damn this heat!

I'm melting! Spent most of today lifting and affixing gib, we have every door and window in the place open but the humidity is a killer! [xx(]

Yesterday was hot, but at least it wasn't as humid! My thoughts are with Lou and those helping her shift hay in this heat...

Buga this for a game of soldiers, can we have some coolness back again please. Looks like we are getting the tail end of what Sydney is getting at the mo...

I'll take heat and humidity any day over wet cold humidity! Could do with a little rain right now though.

I'm a person who plans trips overseas so that I don't get there in the hot time of the year I'd prefer to be cold than too hot...you can always put another layer on, but there are limits to how much you can take off living this close to your neighbours [}] and for OSH considerations when building. My brain closes down when it is this hot!

Starting to dry out here too, we are supposed to get a bit of rain over the weekend but not holding my breath,,,

Just noticed the wind has turned though & the breeze is a wee bit cooler...

Love the sun, love the heat, but I wouldn't live without a pool again. Nothing better than diving in 10 times a day to cool down and refresh between jobs.

At 3 o'clock yesterday, I put my Centameter out on the wooden (silver) deck facing the sun and within 5 minutes I had to rescue it as the numbers were fading out - guess the heat? 42C. Thinking I had probably ruined it, I put it in the shade and it quietly came right over the next 5 minutes and settled at 31. The newly sealed road was dripping tar. Unbelievable how hot it was but today is much cooler with a lovely wind blowing.

One of the (many) good things about The Mainland is when the temperature is hot it's not too wet. So 35C in Christchurch (or here) is like 25C in the Waikato. Now ..... back in February 1998 ..... we had 7 days in a row when the max was over 30C (in Chch). That was difficult.

yes, it's been humid as. Our grass in the yard is all brown but the paddocks are still ok for now.
We had christmas money we were saving to put towards a deck but we spent it on a portable air con unit - it was worth every penny! Our bedroom is now like a little piece if the Arctic!

My daughter (north canterbury) tells me she hauled her pillow and quilt outsid last night and sleep on the lawn!!
I just have the fan going at the end of the bed but still can't sleeo for the heat.

Thursday here was HOT HOT HOT was rung up to be told we were starting milking later in the afternoon in the hope it might be a wee bit cooler!!! It was over 37 in the cool corner of the milking shed!!!! yesterday was a lot nicer with a breeze too and today looks decidedly murky at the moment.

It's not that I'm unsympathetic...but Spain is having it's worse snow storm for many years........not here luckily but it's very cold [}]

Cooled a bit here its 11degrees at the moment with light rain lets hope the rain keeps up.

my back door temp on the decking was 53.5 on thurs and inside the hallway 35. Last night at work it was still causing me to fog up the spectacles at 1 am.. Im sure the heat burnt or is that burned up all the oxygen, so that now its hard to even put one foot in front of the other.. at least there is a high cloud sitting over us for now.. no green grass here, just a few dead heads of daisies and dry dry ground...even I dare not burn the household rubbish...
Tiggs I hope you get some relief, cos I now you cant take a day off, but keep on going.. think you need to visit the red barn and get a 2 m swimming pool and fill that up and wallow in that with the builder!!!

I'm with Tigger on this cold way better then this heat, I just can't cope stinkin hot. I have to sleep with the fan on our bedroom blasting all night.
