I brought a new toy! pics added

As some of you may have figured out i am painting my house. It is a sh*tty 1904 villa that has had a hard life and the paint is pretty had it. Its cracked really badly but not flaking (oh no that would make it easy to get the paint off [!]) anyway a couple of years ago i paint stripped the whole front of the house and re painted it, but put the rest on hold while i did up the inside. Anyway i have brought an electric paint stripper! The easiest way to describe it is that it sort of planes the paint off, but it has 3 spinning blades that you can adjust the depth on. I had a whirly gig with it last night and man oh man does it take the paint off! Its probably about as tiring to use as a heavy sander but a hell of alot more effective. So my place has 5 coats of paint on it including a bright lime green and a rather digusting mustard and i know this because my new toy pretty much took the lot off! It gives a really nice smooth finish so not alot of sanding required. I also used it on a door that only had 2 coats of paint on it and stripped one side in about 5 minutes. I am a happy camper

Now that's what I call a girl's power tool a great present for yourself.[]

Yep I love power tools......credit card had minor heart failure tho but it is apparently a very good brand-Matebo (sp?) and i figure i'll save a small fortune on sandpaper and paint stripper and my time. I gonna have awesome toned arms by the end of it too i reckon []

These are the kind of toys my townie freinds go... 'what do you want one of those for' ...but me, im excited for you Its great to be albe to get a job done in half the time and have the tool for keeps too...well done on your purchase and long my you have a happy relationship with it

Will try and remember to take some pics tonight.... I am very excited about it And yeah i have to laugh when people ask me what i got for my birthday and i say a skillsaw or bench vice or drop saw (which is what i have got for the last few years) I have the best daddy in the world who loves Bunnings almost as much as i do []

Actually speaking of townies....and don't take this the wrong way it is just a bit of humor not bitchiness, we had had some new people buy buy a small block down the rd and they have been mowing part of it that is up by the roadside and veeeerrrrrry carefully mowing around the pretty flower in the middle. Its a white flower ......that many of us will know as hemlock [] Do ya think i should tell them? lol

Yep must admit i did a wee chuckle when i saw it but thought maybe they didn't mow it by mistake....but this is the 3rd week in a row now hee hee.
Yes this tool is a mean one alright, would wanna get ya fingers any where near the blades...takes some fairly hefty chunks out of the wood too if you don't use it right [:0]

Clearly you have experienced the chunky wood look it gives off then Devan.. tee hee!

Na mate def not the blue window sill house....they were dark green tho (you're not colour blind are you lol), but it now a sort of earthy taupey beigey colour. Must go have a look and see if i can find the "blue window" house
