[}:)]

Not on our job, they don't! [^]

Sparkie tells us he'll be finished by Tuesday, plumber will have done his final stuff by Friday.

Before now and Friday we have to get all the ecowool insulation in - with me away for two and a half days and nights - so that the inspector can sign it off on Friday morning.

Then it's gibbing our end quick smart so that the gib stopper can come in and finish that off and the painter come in to finish those rooms off for us.

And all before Xmas, which is only really three weeks away!

Clock is now ticking...

I'm not stressing, beedee, but will be interesting to see if we make it [;)]

And there is HEAPS of room for me to put up the great big Xmas tree that we couldn't fit in our last place without rearranging all of the living room and cutting off access to our bookshelves for several weeks :D

I am not sure anyone takes many of the longer breaks anymore Tigger, certainly not in NSW and from those we have approached here for quotes and work, it seems the standard now is just the stats and bits inbetween.

All keen to keep what work they can coming in. Seems a huge amount of unemployment/slowdown in the building industry here...

Some of our contractors are enjoying the slowdown, swaggie, these guys have been flat stick for about 8 years and can finally have time to do the things around home etc that their wives have been harping on about for years LOL!

Two of the main contractors (plumber and sparkie) have also had a bad year health wise and are looking for a bit of a slower lifestyle, and a good Christmas break, which is totally understandable. So we are working around them especially so they don't have to hang around here when they'd rather be elsewhere.

Tell you what, there are a lot of good deals out there for those who are after new appliances etc.

We finally got our a into g and got new whitewear for the kitchen so that we could make final decisions on cabinet layout etc (no, we haven't done that yet, kitchen can wait until after Xmas, we will have a sink and a bench in the laundry we can use [;)][;)]), and have got our kick-arse rangehood, fridge freezer and dishwasher for under $2500 (plus a nice big Xmas ham thrown in). Rapt!

Too damn hot now to do anything about clearing a space in the garage for them, though...:(
