Sitting in bed with about the 3rd cuppa this morning, BD with his nose in the new LSB mag, and I heard this droning/buzzing sound.....it was getting louder...and closer ....SH*T I yelled "Bees" shut everything!

Boy I can move when I want to! I also found out that teenagers can get out bed very quick too!! Must make a note of that! :D [;)]

Manged to shut everything up as they went over the top of the house, they made their way to the boundary fence and into the pine trees, we watched them swarm around for quite a while. They gradually disappeared, not sure to where, but may go and see if they are still around later, there were 1000.s of them!

If they are still around I will give our friend a call, he's a aperapist....... err..repartist.....uhmm aperturist.........[}:)]...... beekeeper :D

Bees that are swarming do not normally sting, as they are full of honey, well that is what my OH tells me, and we have 3 hives set up, one was a swarm about 3 weeks ago, and then the next week there were two swarms hanging around, one stopped onto a tree and was there the next day, as the day was very cold, so had rung some friends and they scooted out and put them into a box, and collected the next night, the other swarm had gone, but then a couple of days later the neighbour rings up, so we contacted our friend, who scooted out again with another box, and collected that swarm as well. We do treat our bees for the mite problem, and the weather has been so funny that they must have exploded in the hive and moved some of their mates and a queen out.
