Ring Telecom, looking into it, will ring back!
'IF' we can then it looks like the only way to get it is to sign back up with Telecom, Total home plan, $109 per month, all calls in NZ included, and 10GB.
And that will have to do cos I fooking fed up with it all!
OK rant over! Isn't it a lovely day!

Two weeks to proper broadband at our place - so they reckon. Not holding my breath. Apparently as soon as we get a landline we can be on broadband within 24 hours. Let's see if they are right...
Good luck, MM!!

To see whether you can get broadband through your phone line, which is by far the cheapest option, type in your phone number in the box under Learn About Broadband on the left of this web-page: www.telecom.co.nz/broadband
Orcon does a rural broadband wireless service, again you have to have line of sight and pay the installation cost.
It's never easy, eh?

We can get broadband as long as there is room in the exchange, just waiting to see if we can get on it.
We are set in a little valley surrounded by hills so unless we get it through the land line we're stuffed, we don't get good cellphone coverage either.
If Telecom get me on then they get my business, it's that simple now. In fact me and the woman I was talking to from Telecom had a right laugh! She was lovely!

And if you don't have a telecon line?......
We had telecon round to our place when we first wanted to build, and they said that we would be getting broadband in the valley "soon". That was 3 years ago. No sign yet. They also said they couldn't tell me how much it would cost to put in a cable from our gate to our plot (750m) apart from $69 per hour plus cable. And I had to dig and backfill the trench, and I couldn't put the cable in the trench because I might put it in the trench wrong (I'm an electrician, I can do cables in trenches), and I had to get the cable across the river, and, and, and. And then there was the conversation I had with a woman at telecom when I was pointing out that they had failed to quote properly, and she told me "sir, you do realise we are the only people you can get this service from, DON'T YOU" Hence we have declared ourselves a telecon free zone. We have Vodaphone mobiles, and are going to use farmside for broadband and phone connection. Eff telecom. Come the great day brother, they'll be first up against the wall![xx(]
