Kate, if you are intending to come back to NZ, why don't you keep one of the blocks so you have somewhere to come back to? Just a thought.

We did think of that, but I don't fancy being a landlord on the other side of the world...too much can go wrong. Because the two houses are at the end of a no-exit road I don't feel comfortable renting them out when we're not around to check on them. Also, when we come back we will be looking to buy a bigger block of land, definitely more than 10 acres.

nelson and golden bay, so long as you're not in the hills, would also suit Golden bay also has all those art studios and botique wineries to visit

Mangatawhiri is very pretty and has high speed, super duper, cheap wireless broadband.

If you get wistful for Te Miro, we have a couple of local hills you can climb too

Can I hog this post too? We are looking to sell our block this year, so anyone wanting 16 acres close to Masterton, 3 bed home, loads of sheds etc please let me know.

what are your plans? what are you to see and when will you be back?

also do you get respond on an ad on lsb?

we are also shifting when we get ours sold, we do not know where to yet since that is depending on when we sell and what we get,,
someone that wants a small lsb with space for 2 steers one horse and a handfull sheep and chooks? (and still been able to block half of it off every year and make sileage) veggie patch, fruit trees and some native and firewood enough for a couple of years, (fire wood trees are still standing)
