Another cat wanted

One of my cats has gone walk about. They are outside cats and mostly stick around the stables and tack room. They are fed there, but wander up to the house when they feel like it, climb in the house and car windows, get in the horse truck when ever they can etc etc. BUT Boots has not been around for a couple of weeks now. He may have found a new owner - he's a very smoochy cat - or he may have suffered a nastier fate. Tieko is getting lonely. The dogs, pigs and goats do not do as good a job as another cat friend to play, sleep and eat with.

I thought about getting a kitten, and then I thought that it might be better to offer a home to an adult cat. I do have a manegere though, and said cat would have to cope with lots of animals and big and little people. I would really like a cat who would beat up my dogs. Boots encouraged the dogs to play with him and would often end up wet and slimy with dog slobber. He loved it and went back for more but it didn't make him very attractive to cuddle!!

So, does anyone know of cats in the Waikato general area which would like a home?

Can I ask how, if you get an adult cat, you are going to introduce it to your other animals...it would need a settling in period so where would you house it during this time? I know of cats looking for homes in the Waikato area. Which part of the Waikato are you from?

BB, I've got a small cat cage and a large cage - big enough for a medium sized dog. Animals are not usually allowed inside, but when I'm introducing new cats (done it before) I keep the new cat inside until he/she is settled there, then let individual animals inside to meet, greet and play. Once we start venturing outside I use the cages either for the new cat, or sometimes for the more dominant or active animals. Seems to work well. Although I have just let new animals make their own acquantance with the goats and pigs in the past. Usually more concerned with settling the cats and dogs.

We have had a black female cat dropped over the hedge on the farm. We have it on trademe www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=175959978 but haven't had any claimers. Small, friendlyish but we have enough cats for now
