Just to show that the rural community can offer some good stuff, somebody here has organised ballroom dancing lessons . They run for 6 weeks at $5.00 a pop with a cup of tea and biscuits at the end of each session. They are being held in the community hall which is about 100 years old, plonked on the side of the road and surrounded by paddocks.
The lessons have already attracted over 20 people which is a good number - and I am one of them. I've always wanted to be able to dance properly but the opportunity has never been there.
Does your area have a community hall and what uses are they put to?
The community we are moving into has a school and a community hall- no shops or anything else though in 2 and a half weeks they are having the "Ahuroa Sping ball" there which we are all off to. They also use the hall regularly for games nights and family nights.
You'll enjoy the dancing btw its something Sue and i have done for many years now and all our children did as well
4 acres with Garage/sleepout, a pond with ducks and frogs, lots of trees ready to burst into life in spring and lots of garden beds.
You might be able to tango over the fallen fences now Ronnie, good on yer.. . it should be fun.
I have no idea what my money goes into for the community hall here, and when they do send fliers around, they chose the day Im working.. without fail.
Id luv to watch that gumboot dancing, every time I spied them at fieldays I was on my way to catch up with others or on my way out the gate.. maybe we could start a LSB dance group up... anything to be a challenge to those silly cheer leader groups that wander the roads there [fieldays] in their tights holding all those rolls of thigh fat in and then they lift their arms to show sweat stained arm pits... but not one guy notices...
