its about a black guy who is taken on by a white surgeon and trains him up, but the black guy is in a league of his own and comes up with these new ideas and practises in regards to operating procedures. i taped it about 3 weeks ago, just by chance and it was a really good movie, the good thing about it, is that its a true story.
The Alan Rickman movie was "Something the Lord Made". It was about the same people. A very good movie. Haven't read the book, but it sounds like a good read.
