It was really tame, I have another pic when it was on the fence just before it flew to me and sat on my finger!!! Are they really common and I just haven't seen one before? It was really pretty.

Ah, so that's where she went! We had one here for a while, came from somewhere else, stayed for a few weeks and then disappeared.

isn't she lovely, so is this her full size? She's not to be seen now, I wonder if she was just resting.

Sundays I'm so sorry you lost 2 of yours :(

This is one of the baby. The 'ring' is still very faint. They always seems to have a grumpy look.

Not yet as handsome as the one in your photo. :)

WE have friends that have one. Her name is Barbara. I think she was there when they bought the place and she stayed. She sleeps on top of their fridge at the back where it's warm and flies to wherever she'd like to be in the house.

She had an accident with the screen door and lost a foot and half a leg but she gets on just fine. She goes outside and greets visitors and flies around in the trees. A total free agent. She even went down to Canterbury with them for a couple of months and got on just fine down there too.

Amazing birds!!!

She looks full size to me - they don't get that big at all - and my gosh are they tame/playful birds. Both mine were rescues, one couldn't fly and the other had a broken leg that had fixed itself in a very bad way - they would have made easy prey!!!
Within minutes they were both tame. They used to fly and land on me often...
This was just last week...
Sundays :(

Sundays what happened to them, did they get caught up in flooding?
This one was so friendly, she flew down to see me then flew right on to my finger!

We have one that 'adopted' us. Total free agent. Flies in for a feed every day.

She changes boyfriend very often too. Her latest is a toyboy :D.

They are such happy birds and so vocal....laughing, cooing, giggling. Such characters.

Sundays, so sad to hear about your doves. :(

Billy, how's the little Dove doing? I wondered if it had got battered around in the storm. I hope it decides to stay with you.

She's still here! I got up this morning to let the chickens out and htere she was in the house with them!! All snuggly and warm. They seem quite happy to share their food with her.
I was so happy to see her! So what shall we call her ( assuming it's a she!)
