OH and I were just talking about this today - he looks worse than I do from lack of good sleep between the full moon and the horrendous weather. He's commented that some co-workers are also having probs with the full moon and poor sleep, so it does sound as if it's a fairly common thing. It seems to be getting worse as I gt older though, and this particular moon it the worst of all. Sleep all night, but wake up feeling like I never went to sleep at all.

I no longer sleep well and as I've got older, that has become worse. This house had curtains but they were decorative rather than functional and on a full moon sleep was nigh on impossible. Would go to sleep ok then an hour later wake up to a bright room thinking it was time to get up. Up went drapes that can be pulled across and a slightly better nights sleep as a result.

So why can I nod off in the middle of the day in a sunlit room?

Cheers,
Ronnie

Have you tried keeping a "sleep diary"? Note down all the times you have had trouble sleeping and after a year or so go back and compare these times with the lunar cycle for that year.

According to Wikipedia there is no correlation between the lunar cycle and insomnia:

You will find a reference to this article in National Geographic:
