Anyone have anything to do with freight to Ak? I am looking to freight a large item up here but so far have found ridiculous prices. [:0]
It is 2.5 x 2.5 x .5 and only weighs about 20kg.
Any ideas??
No panic to get it here, anytime within the next 6 months.

I take it that is 2.5m x 2.5m x .5? Is it crated? Does it need to be covered?

Try calling Toll Freight, they can put it on a clothside truck, with a forklift. Then send it 500km.
It might be cheaper to rent a small truck and go get it.

Hi Wyseyes, we are freighting goods every day, my suggestion would be to try somebody like Roadstar, or Peter Baker, they would send it as a cubic measurement from the measurements you have given, and generally we send by cubic measurement, and it is generally delivered to a town address in 2 days, 3 days for rural delivery. Ring around quoting the measurement and the weight and they will quote you a price, don't forget to ask if it is a rural delivery because some of the rural mail cannot get this sort of consignment in their vans. Couriers would be too expensive.

does Peter baker have a calculator on their website? I've dealt with them a couple of times recieving deliveries in a previous job and they seem on the ball.

If roadstar is the one with black and white trucks with a gold star in their logo I wouldn't use them unless you like dents in the box and scrapes all over. I think they must use one of those forestry grab log loaders to load boxes at the depot!

I'm pricing sending a manual transmission to hamilton (40Kg, about 90cm by 40 by 50.) and getting a LSD differential shipped down from hamilton. (35Kg 40x30x30)

I LOVE this site........... :D [:I] we are such an awesome helpful family.
I have just bought a footbath for my wonderful...needy in the winter..... angora goats. It is HUGE and looks like it would cost an arm and a leg to freight up here.

Organicltd has offered to collect it for me next time he is down there,
the seller has offered to hold it for me for up to six months.......
how lucky can a person be? :D
