Gorrilla Ad...dont ya love it! So whats ya fav/hate telly ad?

I normally hate ads, turn volume off or go for a cuppa or something, but when i first saw the Cadburys ad with the drumming gorrilla...I just sooo loved it!

The intense concentration with the music is awesome. Havent decided if the upclose face is a man in a costume or what..but still brilliant.

Had to admit though after watching it I did have to ask hubby what the hell it was advertising....

My absolute hate is the ad where the woman who apparently got brain damaged in a car crash, talks about why you have to have air side bags[!].

So whats your pet hate and pet love advert on telly?

As mentioned on another thread today, my favourite ad is the mother who throws herself on the floor in the supermarket shocking her child into behaving. Laugh evey time.

Least favourite - nothing springs to mind. Will let you know.

Being a mum of a 5 & 9 yr old, I love ad that too. Not that my kids had tanties in the supermarket...honest...well maybe 1 or 2 but then i just walked away and left them to it...worked a treat

I *love* that ad, Jan - the gorilla one!!! I just think it's great

And, I desperately want to be that mother who screams on the floor in the supermarket when her kids set her off ... so, if you ever see a woman in Dunedin/Mosgiel with three kids in tow, you'll know it is highly likely to be me.

As an aside, two of my three are pretty good whilst shopping. If they started with a wobbly in the s/market and I walked away, they'd freak and run straight after me. The youngest, on the other hand, would stand and continue, and probably not care two hoots when someone other than I tried to take him home. Hmmmmm.

I love the ad for Pink Batts (where the pink fluffy things are hugging the people). the first time I saw it I could not figure out what the heck it was advertising, and when they showed it was Pink Batts, right at the end, I laughed my head off, it was so well done.

I loathe that Handee towel ad, that little man saying "it's hanndddeeee" is intently irritating.

My fave is the toyota bulls, just the humour in it, used to think the National Bank horse ads were a bit naff but have grown to like them- such a cool horse. Hate hate hate those miracle makeup ads thin lizzy, natural glow etc etc. talk about go on and on.

There is one on at the moment for a beer that shows at the end a seal slapping a guy who has thrown away rubbish - all through the ad are animals having a go at humans and the theme is don't mess with nature . I think it is great .

I also think that gorilla advert is great! I turn the tele up full vol when it comes on. Once I get back on my feet I am gona try & get the music for my mobile ph. ringer.

I HATE the feminine product ads, they are almost like reality tv now. Love the Gorilla one, still don't know what it is advertising. Love the Toyota bulls, still laugh at that one.

I also did the walk off and leave daughter to her tantrum on the supermarket floor trick. It does work doesn't it. For the first few times she'd follow me and have another go, but it didn't take many shopping trips before she gave up and reaslised it wasn't going to get her the desired treat, so she was wasting her efforts.

I was told by my son that the supposed brain injured, car accident victim, is actually an actress. That really annoyed me. I almost felt it was an insult to brain damaged people.

The advert I liked was the Toyota ad with the dog landing in the mud. I felt for him.

The Thin Lizzy ads are a pet hate of mine. Which Wally thought up that name? Give me Suzzane Paul any day.

I have to be proud of the contribution that our son made to the Global Plus ad, the fantasy holiday trip. Even if he didn't get paid for his efforts.

I like the anti-littering beer add too. Its great.

I like the drumming gorilla too! He's cool.
My other fave is the "Let's go Crazy" Telecom broadband one - I think it's just the song...
Reminds me of our madhouse at home and also the Friday drinks when I was once a City Chick!!!! (goodtimes, but better times now on the farm for sure!)

It's not on at the moment, but my favourite advert was the Tui one, where the factory was staffed by beautiful women in skimpy outfits and the men only had eyes for the beer

My least favourite is the one for the Ab King Pro. I mean... REALLY, like you're going to get rock hard abs in 10 days.

I wouldn't say that I hate it but it makes me feel very uncomfortable. I guess that's the way it's been designed to make its point.

When my older two misbehave in the supermarket I send them to 'the brown seat' which is a park bench up by the checkouts. They hate being sent there so it's generally a good deterrent. My husband once put one in the car at Blenheim - ie strange town - NW because he wouldn't behave. We were parked in the front row in front of the big windows by the checkouts and could see him howling like crazy each time we got to the end of an aisle. OH wasn't in the best of moods after the drive from down South so didn't have much patience with him.

I loathe most cleaning product ads and the way they perpetuate the stereotype that it's the woman's job to clean.

Did anyone watch The Chasers that used to be on Friday night. I loved their parody of the voiceover guy going about his daily business talking like that.
