Cattery - sth auckland/franklin
does anyone have any excellent cattery recommendations around the Franklin area please?
These are fairly pampered, mainly indoor cats who love the warmth, both can go into a big "run" together so no worries there, in fact they would prefer it in unknown surroundings... and we would like to visit very regularly although will pre-arrange with Manager so its not inconvenient.
any thoughts?

Used it for our cats when we lived at Clark's Beach many moons ago

Lovely surrounds, rural.

E and I were looking at it last night and wondering if we should tell the SOH or not.... mind you the facilities look good and I will email them today and see if their rate is flexible for longer term stays.
Many thanks everyone for your help and advice.

I used to drive past Boutique cattery every day, it's fairly new (last 5 years or so), and has a gorgeous outdoor area. When you drive past, you can see the cats lying on their couches, looking out into the world.
There is another one in Drury, in Burtt Rd, a bit more old and tired, but a friend boards her pets there and they are very good she tells me. i've picked up her dogs there and it always seems full, which I've taken as a good sign! It's about 2 minutes off the m'way at Drury.

many thanks BB I was thinking that its another thing the cats won't want to deal with after being transported about the place in all different surroundings.
I contacted Jet Pet yesterday afternoon and they want to take the cats for 4 days boarding before they depart, on the grounds that it gives their vet enough time to do worming, insecticidal washing and a check up, however our vet does their worming and as we are due back for immunisations on Tuesday I am going to speak to our vet as to why it needs to be all done again if we have the records to prove the history.
Neither of mine have fleas either and I think its going to be all very distressing time for them, so if I can minimise the amount of time they are away from us and the odd experiences (if they are unnecessary?) then all the more better for our cats.

I will give her a call tonight and have a chat to her.
Wait till you see her cattery; its fantastic? And you will get to see her Birmans as well, cos she breeds, and they have their accommodation attached to the boarding facilities. All cats, boarders & her own, are very spoilt

You are a very Dear and Wonderful Person Kats and I very much appreciate your offer....
I was just telling Tigger off line today that I am not familiar with many places in NZ, but suspect you might be somewhat south of us?
As E is going to school back towards Auckland, it was our joint wishes to find something "in between" and Bombay Hills I know so not many chances of getting completely lost and within what I know of my return journey from school for us both to go and play with our furballs very regularly.
I appreciate your offer and the goodwill with it. I hope in time I can get to know your area and offer further business from us down the track.
I do really appreciate your offer and posting!
