It should be in full swing by now. :) I wonder if the general public are still allowed fireworks over there?

It is early in the day here ,8:00 a.m., but you can smell the barbecue smoke as people are starting up their grills. Fireworks are allowed, but only in certain areas. In the city, "safe and sane" fireworks are allowed between the hours of 8:00 pm. and midnight. But as you well know, not everyone obeys the rules. We have been hearing loud firecrackers for days now. Come this evening, the air will reek of sulfur and smoke from all the fireworks. And this comes after several days of bad air. Because of all the forest fires, (1100 in our state) the air was labeled very unhealthy, and we were advised to stay indoors. Yeah, right. Anyway, it is hot, the barbecue grills are heating up, the watermelon is chilling, and everyone is looking forward to a bang-up 4th.

Sounds like you could do with some of our rain over there Lady Yank, to help put out those forest fires. Hope the celebrations went well. :)

Wishing you all the best too Lady Yank. Now you have to be one of our BEST lurkers!

Really confusd about Obama as our main newspaper was suggesting (from a scan read) that he is going back on something already that he spoke about. Was it Iran? Don't ya just love politics? As it is Winter here (totally), if you want me to drag it out and read it properly, you will have to be fast. Yesterdays paper is usally firestarter today. Grin. Hope you are well and happy.

It is true, the campaigners are flip-flopping on issues already. But this is nothing new. They all lie before being elected. Too bad their nose doesn't grow like Pinocchio's did when he lied. :D
