I don’t really know what to say,,
It took me by surprise, totally by surprise!

I got an envelope with vouchers from my friends here at LSB.


I thank all of you that have thought about us.

My words for you my fellow kiwi lsb’ers,,
wish you all to read and act on this.
I do not want someone else to end up in same situation as us.


Please check your insurences.
We did not have insurence.
Why not?
We used to,,
One of us worked for a company that did belly up owing us money, to cut down costs we were forced to can our insurences.When we both had work again we were to sign up again and we were just to,,,,when sickness hit us.

My partner got cancer just before x-mas, perfectly healthy one day total disaster the next, it went so fast.
To loose 20 kilos in less than one month.
3 months of chemo and then a surgery so big so no more surgery can be done and then another session of 3 months chemo therapy.
It is not just and “only” the fight for survival, it is also to lose one income from one day to another.
Yes, you do not “only” lose one income it is all the other that adds up as well.
To be sole provider, pay all medication that isn’t all sponsored, to drive to the hospital over and over again and still maintain a work.
Some days we have had to drive to the hospital once a day to top up medication pump some days to leave him at hospital drive to work and pick him up in the afternoon.
Some days have been 300 km!

I signed my support for these people a year ago, before this happened.
I would like you all to have a read at this web site and sign your support, you might not need it now but this is something I think all kiwis should be entitled to.

It was the least we could do Suz. We can only imagine the day to day struggle you must go through, even then it probably is nowhere near what it is like for you somedays.
I admire your strength and courage, your attitude to keep on keeping on for the sake of someone you love, even when some days it must take every ounce of strength you can muster to make it through the day.
Please try when you can to take time for you, even a bubble bath when you can pinch the time to do so.
I wish you both happy days to come, smiles and hope. You are doing one tremdous job and your strength of spirit is to be admired. Hugs

All my best thoughts and wishes to you Suz. It's a brave thing you are doing for someone you love and my heart goes out to you.

When my dearest friend got cancer, her company asked her if there was anything they could do to help. She couldn't think of anything. So they went to a cancer Dr and asked, what's the number one stressful thing for a family going through this, and they said "the loss of income". So they kept paying her, whether she worked or not.

It was the most amazing blessing, in so many ways.

What you are going through is far worse than what I had to endure (except maybe, for the needles [:0]) in all the operations I had.
I really hope you are getting the support you need and understand the cancer your husband has a bit more now things have happened.
If you don't feel you are getting the support.... SHOUT LOUDER!!!! The system does listen.

Suz - so sorry to hear about this. Ok - I am usually on here daily and I didn't know anything was happening to Suzanne's partner. I have been away for the past 6 days in the depths of dispair dealing with Dial Up ( G*d For**d - how do you all do it?) so how and when did this come up? I only want to know because I too would do anything I could to help out. At the moment I am looking after my brother who has just had major surgery, has no family and a farm so I am doing that...but I care too!
