Naughty/Clever Puppy

Because we must be completely mad we currently have two puppies in the house - my 11 month old foxy x collie and my husband's 4 month old heading pup.

The younger pup is crated overnight, when we're out, or just any time I need to know she's contained and can't get into mischeif. The older pup has earned the privaledge of not having to be crated much at all now.

In the last few weeks the younger pup has been escaping from her crate :confused: It would be quite a feat to open the crate from the inside but it could be done. The first couple of times we blamed each other for not closing the door properly but it was happening too often to be an accident. We solved the problem by using a carabena clip to secure the crate door.

Anyway, this morning when I started work I put the young pup in her crate with a chew bone, knowing that she would soon settle down for a nap. Because the crate is right beside me I didn't bother with the carabena. Then something interesting happened:

The older pup came over and deftly unlatched the crate door with her nose then pulled the door open and pinched the chew bone [:0]

Now we know who the culpret really is! [}]

Naughty, but I can't help admiring her cleverness

Now that is cunning and so CUTE lol every dog for himself I say.

so you're now using the carabiner clip all the time?

Smart dog, I hope that means it will be easy to train
