I want an EASY knit pattern to make a jumper for my 19 year old cat who is really feeling the cold at the moment. Anyone?
I made her a polo fleece "jumper" but it has stretched and she seems to get out of the front leg openings and I find her with it behind her shoulders. Can't make them any smaller of I couldn't get her legs into it.

I never understand the dog patterns as they stop so short of the kidneys (call me old fashioned) and presume it is for boy dogs but I also want one for my female poodle cross who - owing to genetics - has a very long back. Anyone?

The requirement is - keep it simple stupid! (That's me and my knitting ability). I guess this should really be in the craft section.

was going to post the revelry one but already done. I knitted a dog one for a cat though he didn't like it (the lhasa loves it) - it's longer in the body than most. Think it was on a website either called the Daily Knitter or Lion Knits. Both have heaps of free patterns to download.

This is my 2 minute pattern for a bigger dog.

Get an old fleece jacket that is ready to be discarded & has a short neck zip.
Cut the sleeves off & then cut the front in a semi circle from the side seam up to a few inches belowthe zip & down the other side.

Finished....even keeps their tails warm & hangs down over their hips

Their legs go in the sleeve hole & the zip undoes & pops over the head
No probs either popping it in the washing machine

G. mary Might try that for my dally. She thinks she is cold and neaks into our bed occaionally. We find out when we get pushed to the side with her warm and toasty in the middle legsstretched out lol. I usually remember to put a rug over her at night.
I found a lot of free patterns just surfing the other day for my friend's chi puppy. Lion Brand wendy wool and other free pattern sites etc. Too many to remember but I just googled free knitting patterns. You can buy doggie patterns too.

Living on our 5 acres of land. Busy fencing and planting. Have dogs, cats and chickens. We also have cattle, sheep, goats, and geese.

lea, mine is a GSP & I know what you mean about them managing to get in the middle & taking up 90% of the room. They certainly sleep better(& stay in their own bed if they are warm)
