Hi, finally got iTunes on the PC and want to go shopping. [;)]

One question, and I just can't find an answer there or on the apple site :

When I download an album, will I get the artwork and liners as well, like texts, etc?

TIA[:I]

1 hubby, 2 kids, 1 cat, 1 dog, 2 swallows and I've lost count how many offsprings with even more grandkids, 5 bunny girls, 5 bunny boys, 12 chickens (rooster, pullets, chicks and more about to hatch hopefully) and 4 goats with two of them expecting any day! (24.10.14)
But who's counting [;)]...

I hope you have broadband. It takes me 20-30 mins to download one song. But I have got the artwork with that, so you should with the whole album. Still an amateur though at i tunes.

Thanks Toni, yup we "occasionally" have broadband [;)], but downloads certainly chew away at the quota!!
We've got 6GB and last month we actually got switched back to dial up for a couple of days [;)]

Mind you, not sure if it was me, or if we have a bug. I'm disconnecting the line now again, just to make sure no one can sneak in! :p
It's an old computer and I can't download the latest protection:(, so we' re back to locking up ourselves again!!

Waiting for some cash to get a new computer

Anyway, off to browse!!

Good to see there are other itunes users. When you download any song it gives you the artwork and the lyrics. If you download a application called Gimmesome tune, It shows the lyrics as itunes plays the song. like your own karioki. sing along to the music

I was playing with Itunes and the Ipod the other day, and I recall in the Ipod options, there is a choice whether to download artwork or not....

Yes, it's surprising that there aren't more. After all, there really is one* born every minute.

Google for itunes and DRM to find out why buying from the itunes store is not as much fun as owning the CD.

Well, I did google and found this:
www.apple.com/pr/library/2007/04/02itunes.html

That doesn't sound bad?!

So what's your point? Are you one of the DA's who are anti anything apple makes or doesfor the sake of it?
I listen to my music through my APPLE Mac Powerbook and use a Sennheiser
headset. The quality is good enough for me. I also play the ipod through my stereo via the FM radio. Nobody can tell the difference.

I cant really see the problem with that, technically you are stealing when you file share. Some people mark their valuables with invisable numbers to make it harder for burglars to sell on, which is the same sort of thing as iTunes are doing. What about those who lock their cars in car parks, how rude, it makes it harder for me to just take because I dont want to pay for a car.
Thats just my take on file sharing. Feel free to disagree

I am reading your link though that it relates to Apple DRM iTunes, is this different to the "normal" iTunes store where you pay to download each song?

As I am not into burning CD's or the like (leave that to others) I don't have a problem as long as my info isn't being made public....

Do the artists get a cut from the downloaded tunes? I have only downloaded 5 and the rest have come from already owned cd's. It is a convienent (sp) way to play songs through the stereo. It isn't file sharing as such is it. Isn't that another site altogther?

I am happy to be corrected but that is my understanding too Toni, and that the artists (well their recording sudio) are reimbursed and using your Ipod is not file sharing...

I know a couple of people that go onto the file sharing sites, but that doesn't appeal to me. One doesn't let others into her files so is being shut out of others. I suppose fair enough, but it seems like to much of a risk to me to let others access to your computer files. So, I can't see what the 'jibe' seems to be.
