Home remedies - sinus headaches
I have gone through a box of cold and flu's, a box of sinutab, pandadol, and disprin. I am limiting my time on the computer because it seems to make things worse... even enlarged the text for a while until I couldn't read the full internet banking screen[xx(]
Anyone else had this rotten dose? How did you permanently get rid of the headache.....
ps my doc doesn't believe in giving out antibotics.

Umm, a cold is caused by a virus. In what way do you think antibiotics will help?

If the sinus has got to the point that you (sorry, this is a bit gross [xx(]) are blowing out, um, yucky coloured stuff (brown, green or any other colour of the rainbow [}

But ame's right, antibiotics are no use on a standard cold [

Oh and after writing all that I've realised you asked for HOME remedies...... Mum always used to get us to put our heads over a bowl of water that had just been boiled with a towel over our head and the bowl to lock in the steam to liquefy the congestion which contributes to headaches etc.
Hope it helps - being sick sucks!

I agree that antibiotics won't help if it's a cold but are you sure it's not your teeth? I had a problem with an infection in a tooth due to a root canal (don't ask [xx(]) and had really bad sinus headaches until six months of antibiotics cleared it up.
Cheers

Swaggie have to been to the docs though? Because if you have a sinus infection that can be treated with anti-biotics!

Other than that I would go with MMs post borer idea.

I had a really horrid badly blocked head for about two weeks once and after trying various remedies I was at my wits end and thorougly miserable.
I recalled reading somewhere about the uses for cayenne pepper and I thought I had nothing to lose so I tried sniffing some like you would with snuff. It was only a little bit and it didn't blow my head off but it did help clear my head.
Really, it worked for me [^]

any way, the same as consuming a bottle of wine might!

I think mine was brought on by a lot of stress rather than actually catching anything. All is right with the rest of my family... they usually give it to me.

Failing that I shall attend Docs again (was trying to avoid the visit because I am supposed to have had ultrasounds on my female bits for another crisis and haven't done so yet, school holidays, yadda yadda yadda etc) but will bite the bullet she will shoot me for neglecting that...[
