Introducing Tonks
Well, this wee madam got into my head and stayed there.
We picked her up last night.
Here's me thinking it would take a few days at least for her to settle. HA! She was right at home within minutes of coming inside! She has smooched both dogs and has absolutely no fear of them at all. They follow her around like a couple of prison trustees and it's rare that she doesn't have a dogs nose up her bum. She just turns on them and smooches their nose.
You would expect a kitten to explore with caution, not this wee tot, she marches about very confidently, checks everything out with no fear whatsoever. Very cool!
She loves cuddles and at presnt is on my lap asleep. I'me rather reluctant to move but there are other things I need to do other than be a bed for a kitten.
I'll ask Pyewacket to put up a photo, I don't do things that technical.

She's really quite a character. Her tail is really long and thin which leads me to believe she has some Oriental breeding in her lineage somewhere, plus she has stripes on her legs and spots on her back and tummy. I reckon she's got very long feet too. Not her toes but her actual feet. She also has that lean look of an Oriental cat. The smaller litter she was with were very 'square' looking cats.
I was making a cup of tea and washing out a milk bottle and wondered where she was. She had been on my shoulder and got herself down onto the floor.
I asked Pilot and Bria "where's Tonks?" and they both shot around behind the couch where I could see Tonks had parked herself, so the dogs know who she is.
One of the wee blokes last night made himself known to Kim. He was all over her and sought her out. Today, Emma phoned and the wee bloke managed to get himself up to the phone and purr like mad into the mouthpiece, talking to Kim. Emma said the wee chap had found her through the phone. He really is making a big play for Kim, even over the magic of the telephone. Kim named him Bernard, told Emma we couldn't have any more cats, but his name is Bernard. He is a tiny wee dot with the tiniest tip of white on his tail. I hope he finds a good home. Pity Kim already has two cats cos he seems quite keen to be hers. He'd have a fight on his paws though. Kim belongs to Rivka and Pilot and it's taken quite a while for those two to learn to share Kim.
With two grown cats and two dogs, Tonks looks so tiny. The smaller kittens she was with made her look bigger than she is.
Tonks has an amazing knack for curling up on your lap and making you feel really guilty for having to move her so you can get up.

I think I'll have to seek out a bit of lambskin for her.
All the baby animals we've had inside seem to take a shine to the lambskin.
It used to be on Kims lazyboy chair and Hanukkah LOVED to roll around on the lambskin seat, smooching it, before she'd curl up and go to sleep. It took seconds between Kim leaving her chair and Hanukkah claiming it.
Tree had a long bit of lambskin we called Sucky-sucky. she would suck on it at one end and paddle it with her back feet at the other end.
Tonks is a very confident wee lady, considering she was hand raised. I've heard quite a few handraised kittens have social problems but the way EmmaOs has raised all of them seems to have made them really independent and confident. Tonks throws caution to the wind and struts around the house like she owns it. Rivka and Phoebe have met her. Rivka growled and ran off and Phoebe just started and walked away.
The dogs think they are her guardians. If I can't find her, I just ask Bria where Tonks is and she'll lead you straight to the spot. It's not usually that hard cos there's a big black dog lying and watching her sleep or play or whatever it is she's up to ready to give her a lick and a promise if she needs it... which in Pilots view is most of the time.
I have a feeling that when Tonks is a bit bigger, they'll end up cuddled up to each other sleeping more often than not.
Pilot tried to do it with Tree once. Tree had taken over Brias bed. Pilot waited until Tree was alseep then crept in ever so carefully and quietly curled herself up next to Tree. Not an easy move because the bed ins't that big and Tree was in the middle of it and Pilot isn't exactly tiny but she can make herself quite compact. Peace didn't last long. I think Bria may have heard an ant cough up on the Bombays somewhere and started barking at it. At this point, Pilot decided to let rip with a series of loud sudden woofs which sorely ticked Tree off. She was never one for loud sudden noises. If she was on your knee and you happened to sneeze, skin around the knee and/or possibly thigh area would be lost. She'd stalk off giving you the filthiest looks.
