I have just learned this morning that Betty has had a stroke and is in hospital in Wairau. I'm sure she and the family would appreciate some good thoughts/prayers at this time.

I was supposed to be there now, but had to postpone by a couple of weeks due to DH's work schedule, and when I spoke to her she said she was actually relieved because she was exhausted from a recent visitor who mentally tired her out.

I do hope she's ok.

How sad reading this news Andrea. The stress over these past few months have obviously taken a tremendous toll on her health and well being.
Wishing Betty a speedy recovery, I hope she'll soon be able to return to Arapawa Island and her beloved goats.

Well, with all the pressure and the good fight she has had to do, it is no wonder she is ill. I do hope she gets well very very soon and gets back to her island. That is very sad news. I trust she has people there now to look after things for her.

Just had an email from rellie who has spoken with her neighbours and it seems that Betty has a long road to recovery in front of her to get back to the island. Lets hope it goes well for her.

I just had a forwarded email from her son, and she will likely not be returning to the island, she's doing that poorly. Very sad indeed.

Oh dear the poor woman, the fight seems to have been too much eh.

Hope she recovers well, and that someone can take on the fight where she left off. At this time her health is far more important!

That's what rellie said Andrea, but because I had heard it third hand was hoping you would confirm or deny it. I was hoping it wasn't true and she would make it back there. All those years of pressure have finally taken their toll eh. Hopefully the momentum doesn't stop now on the goat save. From what I have been told, she is one gutsy woman and hope this holds her strong in her fight to get well.
