These days I don't use faxes very much at all but do need to occasionally. Since upgrading the PC and getting Vista, my old fax proggy won't work. Does anyone know of a Vista compatible freeware fax program?

Thanks Spook. Looks like there are only 2 pieces of software out there and neither is freeware! Oh bother and a few other strong words.

Aside from that, what problem do you have in paying for one of these pieces of software you have found? If it does what you want, but costs money, pay the money.

I have had no problem using and receiving faxes since I joined the Vista community and I should add that my Canon photcopier, fax, scanner is positively ancient! It always freaks me out that my fax etc machine announces at opening that (if it is turned off) it is "off line". Could it be that you are not set up correctly? Ignorance is bliss!

Just thought I would add, as an afterthought, that in relationship to my other thread re Vista SP1 (or whatever it is) that Automatic Updates in Vista update my Fax connection (according to Microsoft) so I just do it. Another possibility? Not up to date with Updates possibly?

Hi Didi, Vista Home does not come with the fax software. Updates are pretty current and SP1 is done. Just no fax proggy.
Ame, I only send about 4 or 5 faxes a year. If there is a freeware proggy out there that will do basic faxes I will go for it. From your responses in other threads I gather you are involved in the IT industry so your comments are understandable but on the flip side you must also understand that when we end users only want to use something occasionally we don't rush out and buy software - we look for freeware first!
