First the flies, and now the crane flies

First the flies, and now the crane flies was created by Ghilly
We have been inundated with ruddy flies! The beggars are everywhere and don't seem to diminish using fly spray. They have now been joined by crane flies. These harmless beasties are not so bad to have around cos they eat mosquito larvae. Inside however, they are a right royal pain in the bum.
They seem to dismember themselves everywhere. There are scattered body parts all over the bench, no matter how often you mop them up, more bits and pieces arrive. They hit a damp patch on the bench and fall apart!
They have no apparent direction and just seem to hurtle from one space to another. One flew into me last night and 'futtered' about my head until I gave it the flick, no doubt it lost body parts in the air movement as I swished it away.
They really need to stay outside and eat larvae!
I called Mum and Dad last night, Dad, I think, might have been heavily engrossed in Coro street so I talked to Mum. I got the run down (after their visit) that I should get rid of the cobwebs in the kitchen window. I didn't say anything really, no point. I could have told her they are our defense against flies and mosquitos and other creepy crawlies. They don't see it that way and considering I used to yell the house down if I saw a spider, I think maybe they were a little surprised at my lack of concern.
Occasionally the webs get whisked away, when they start looking really messy but until I get around to it, they stay put. I think the fly population this year may be a bit much for the spiders to handle. It might be a low season for stock feed and hay but the spiders are getting a bumper crop!

I have taken to sleeping with a can of mortein. We are being eaten alive by a hoarde of maruding moskitoes.
Dunno where they're coming from but as soon as I close my eyes the buggers are whining around.
I have 13 bites on my hands and wrists. Said to hubby - bloody bastards - do something - he said, I don't get bitten... yesterday morning he woke up looking like a half-eaten corpse.
I just laughed.
All this happened before the rain, we have no still water, so I don't know what the hell's going on!
