Its happened again! The trip is off - this time because hubby has come back from the USA sick. The doctor has said he's not going anywhere for at least 3 weeks so its back to life on the farm as usual! He has a virus, and an infection, and problems breathing and is so lacking in energy that all he can do is sleep. So nothing serious, just the penalty for imagining he could travel in the fast lane forever. So it doesn't pay to boast though it was a nice dream while it lasted!

Bugga bum s**! I'm sorry to hear that.

I do hope hubby is better soon, you can get another trip, but hubby would be a lot harder to replace.

By the way - how is the cat?

Sorry to hear that. Have you heard me rant and rave about Buccaline Berna - a pill form of flu vaccination in simplistic terms available from any chemist. When hubby is well (and you are too) take a course and if you are anything like me, you will not get sick with anything that is going around! Best of luck and hopefully a dream holiday soon.

PS thanks for the reminder - I could do with a top up for the Winter months.

KP, Charlie is really good now and tolerates the salve very well. But our other cat, aged about 16years, has got kidney failure so we are giving him the special diet and he is on pills (no problem with him taking them!), but we will have to make that awful decision sometime soon.
And didi, thanks for that advice, he qualifies for a free flu jab so would the buccaline be good to take too?

Jeannielea - no re your flu jab question. I would actually be saying no to the flu jab as I know far too many people who have had it and get seriously sick! Last Winter I was working in an office where we had free flu jabs - I said no - took my BB and had a sniffle for 3 days. Others on fly jab were off for over a week and not anywhere near 100% for 3 weeks.

All I know is that I started using this product about 7+ years ago and have never had flu since. Three days of feeling blah when others are "ill" for three weeks. Initially introduced through my old Mum's Bridge Club! She also only uses BB and refuses the flu jab and will be 92 in 3 months. Someone else close to me works in the Public Health System and also uses BB - same outcome.

I will add that we have had this conversation on here before and someone did not agree with me about this so my recommendation is based on my personal experience only. I take it pre Summer and pre Winter if you are interested and it only costs about $14. All the best to you both.
