Isn't it a great feeling BB???? I have 4 here tonight, was going to be 6 but the other two didn't need a babysitter in the end. Had a big weekend at the dog trials as well, so am slightly b u g g e r e d. I had to pitch in this year as the secretary had a bad head injury and is very very ill, so had to actually do something this time round. Never mind, I quite enjoyed it all really.

You know we will all be following you throughout this pregnancy don't you. When your FIRST grandchild hits 13 as my first one does in May, then you start to feel very old. Congratulations. :D :D :D

Congrats BB - My wee Amy (now 4) is an antibiotics baby and, I am quite embarrassed to say, was not much wanted by her mother. I think everything happens for a reason though as she has taught me such a lot about who I am and my life is very, very much the richer for having her. And, it goes without saying, her grandparents absolutely adore her :)

BB, it's odd how little we often know of each other. I had never actually thought of you having children - just cats :)

It would seem that having children at this point was not on your daughters agenda but now that it's underway, it's good that all are happy about it. Obviously you are and I'm sure you will enjoy being a grandmother. There is something special about grandchildren and I think it's because we can enjoy them and not have the responsibility. I have 3 grandsons whom I don't get to see anything like as often as I would like but when I do, it's great to be able to play and love and leave their education, feeding, cleaning etc. up to their mother :p

Cheers,
Ronnie

Thanks guys!
Ronnie ~ you are 1/2-right. When I met hubby "my daughter" was 4 years old and she has lived with us for a large part of her life :-) Her biological mother lives in Oz & they have no contact.
MM ~ this couldnt have come at a better time for us (if you get my drift)
Toni ~ not sure what I am feeling, it came as such a shock.
My daughter is a "career girl", left school at 15 without an qualifications but has, over the years, clawed her way up the ladder and now has a fantastic, well paid job in HR with a very large company. She is pretty shell-shocked and also very sick at the moment. Walking around with the bottle of water & dry crackers ..lol She went overseas for 3 weeks to help out her sister-in-law with a new business venture but was so sick she had to return home :-)

I was a grandma at 41 and then they just on coming and coming and coming. Enjoy it BB, it really is great.

Ronney, I get to do the picking up from school/kindy/daycare and the cleaning as well as the looking after and sending them back home. So don't get out of that part of it. Sometimes though it is a bit much. Have one left this morning, 3 have gone. 3 year old is sitting on my chair at the mo, 'helping' me type. [xx(]I am going to a bbq at their place today so will see them again in a couple of hours.[^]

Ohh BB, I was soooooo sick too - I can totally empathise with the poor girl. I existed on water with a dash of roses lime and dry crackers as well. It would take me an hour to eat my lunch and dinner every day as I had to pause waiting for each wave of nausea to pass! Ohhh SO glad I won't be going there again [;)] - I still managed to gain 26kg somehow tho! :o

Hey that's great news. There is something very special about the relationship with grandchildren - they are so accepting without the hassles your own kids can cause! I was present for the birth of 2 of mine so the bond can begin early. Hope your daughter is soon feeling better and can begin to enjoy the months ahead.
