Oh gosh it's the 14th already!

Everyday is St Valentines Day here!!

[] Always Valentines here to MM like hell lol. My daughter though had a wonderful morning, her boyfriend is away on a course and so he sent her 6 red roses all done up in ribbon etc, a BIG balloon and also a cute as stuffed dog all wrapped up in cellophane and a big ribbon. some have all the luck.

I got a big bunch of flowers...[]

We don't do St. Valentine's Day in this house, and not because we are killjoys or unromantic. We just aren't into commercialism.[:0]

We mutually agreed very early in our relationship that we would show our love/appreciation/gratitude etc. for each other in a spontaneous way. To surprise each other[8D], and on more than one day a year[:0]; not be guilted:( into doing it by the repetitive instructions of a voice on the radio/tv, or an ad screaming at us from the newspaper.[!][}][xx(]

I actually find St V. Day a tad tacky:o these days, and definitely forced. Sadly it is now miles away from the original intention.

Ha ha awww I bet you two are very romantic and spontanious lol. We don't do Valentines either. I think the very first year we had met I got flowers I think lol as that was 30 years ago....................wow Do I look old ha ha

I got flowers yesturday, but then I got flowers when I came home from my cruise as well, thats my lot for the next 12 months! Can't complain, I get little treats all the time, and he puts up with me so thats a bonus.

LOL, yes. [8D] And most importantly he doesn't complain when I raid his wallet.

As a friend says, and I have to agree "We have the perfect arrangement: he earns it, I spend it!" (I am a SAHM[])

How many years have we in NZ celebrated this day. I can't say I really remember way back anyone celebrating. To me it has only come to the fore in the last few years, or have I been living under a rock somewhere. I think it is a lot of rot.

I think your right Toni I'm 40 and my earliest memories of it are my late teens, and then it was no big deal. Just sending an anonymous card to someone you had a secret crush on:o[] or for a joke[)]. That's all!

Ardnas...I couldn't agree more...I got a pressie yesterday..not brought because of commercial pressure, but found because he knew I would like them...a whole pile of ceramic telephone line insulators. My driveway will be ablaze with light soon

Valentines is as commercial as you want to make it!!!
Loads of outfits make mega bucks off it - but seeing as I hate ROSES (poo!) they not making money out of us!

I think it's just a nice day to say "I love you" just that little extra or whatever..

Mr Man got a Street Machine magazine for a surprise gift and I got some picked daisies off the farm and help setting up my electric fencing for the lads (horses).
