Goats will eat almost anything, but there are some things you should never give them major access too. Privet for instance they love, but it has a cumulative effect that damages their livers. Agapanthus burns and damages their rumen and gut, Rhododendrun will kill them as an example of plants you may have in your garden, so you need to make a comprehensive list of toxic trees shrubs etc and eradicate anything they might get access to. Satisfy their need for fibre with good quality hay and they will browse seed-heads and long grass in your paddocks.
This list may help you get started Goat Poisons

5 acres, Ferguson 35X and implements, Hanmay pto shredder, BMW Z3, Countax ride on mower, chooks, Dorper and Wiltshire sheep. Bosky wood burning central heating stove and radiators. Retro caravan. Growing our own food and preserving it. Small vineyard, crap wine.
Don't worry, they will soon move on to the neighbours place!

Hi, thanks for that. I have read that previously. Our goats are fully contained in new 7 wire fencing with a vast area that goes down to wetlands with no bad plants in it. I guess pohutukawa will be ok, it’s not on the list.
