Hi All,
I have been an avid reader of this site for the last 5 years, (not sure why I have not joined before) from the very start of developing 3 acres of land 50km north of Auckland. House, orchard, pond, paddocks all looking great.
The information gleaned has been amazing on sheep, goats, chickens, fruit trees…… the list goes on. It has helped us no end!
Now time for a change, Auckland traffic has got to me.
Hubby has already started a job in Napier and I’m holding the fort in Auckland and we have now sold.
So the hunt is on in the Hawkes Bay, but nothing at the moment and time is running out.
We would love to take our Suffolk sheep and little family of Arapawa goats with us.
So if anyone knows of a couple of paddocks up for lease around Napier or Hastings areas in about 4 weeks’ time it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Tracey

Hi TracD
Look toward Central Hawkes Bay if you want some land. I have been here for the last 10 years and have finally taken the plunge and brought 3 acres. Just planning the house. You will get so much more for your money and the 45 min drive to Napier will feel like nothing being from Auckland. Great community here as well.

Hi,
Nowhere is out of consideration. But we do want fairly new house or fully renovated.
We built the one in Auckland, has been great. Taken 5 years to get everything completed, fencing, landscaping, Veggie gardens etc, not sure I want to do that again.
Remember to put a Loo by the back door as you spend so much time outdoors in gum boots (or should i say wellies, I'm a pome to) and getting dirty a real pain walking through the house.

I just go and pee on the compost heap - much easier  Unfortunately the lemon tree is not big enough to get under!
